The Rochester Youth Baseball Association (RYBA) 9U-14U program is designed to place players in an appropriate competition level while promoting development and high school affiliation when possible (except at AAA level). AAA, AA, and A players compete against community-based teams from across the state. Players who do not wish to tryout for a "traveling" team, or do not successfully evaluate for a AAA, AA, or A team, will be placed in the Southern Minny Baseball League. The 9U-14U program is designed to provide players with the knowledge and skills necessary to eventually play baseball at the high school level.
NOTE: Your age on April 30th determines your tryout level unless you choose to play "up" with your school grade. For example, if you turn 11 on May 1, you are eligible for 10U unless you choose to play with your classmates in your grade who turned 11 before May 1. Players in their respective age group(s) must not reach the age before May 1, 2021. It is permissible for a player to play up from their designated age division, but they may not play down. For example: a 13 year-old may play in the 14 year-old division, but a 15 year-old may NOT play in the 14 year-old division.
BY REGISTERING FOR 9U-14U BASEBALL, ATTENDING A UNIFORM FITTING SESSION, AND PARTICIPATING IN MARCH TRYOUTS, RYBA ASSUMES YOUR PLAYER IS FULLY COMMITTED TO BASEBALL DURING THE ENTIRE SEASON AND ANY POTENTIAL CONFLICT WITH ANOTHER SPORT WILL BE AVOIDED.
