Thursday 07/18/2019: The page is now active and the brackets are complete. Good luck to everyone!

Pre-tournament Q & A

Q: How is the tournament structured?
A: The tournament will be set up using your year end league standings to rank teams. Different formats will be used at different levels because of number of teams. Pool play or brackets will be utilized.

Q: Are the rules for this different than for the regular season?
A: Everything is the same, EXCEPT FOR PITCHING.  Please see below under TOURNAMENT INFORMATION for the pitching rules variations.

Q: You have last year's schedule posted.  When will this year's schedule be posted?
A: As soon as all House League games are completed and entered, the schedule will be posted.  If coaches are having difficulty entering scores, please contact Mike Gozola Jr. (see link below, right) to get set up with authorization to input your teams scores.

Tournament Information

  • FORMAT: The Showdown Tournament is a full featured weekend tournament. Teams will be placed into a pool play round and then based on those results wither either seed into a single- elimination bracket or have the championship game determined by who wins the pools. Teams will be seeded into the pools based on final regular season standings.
  • SCHEDULE: Find your age group/level below by clicking on the dropdown menu in the upper left of the NGIN tournament tool.

  • RULES: Unless noted here, the rules for the tournament are the same that you play by during the league year. In order to keep the tournament running on time and smoothly, we have a few changes that are put in place:

    • Time Limits:
      • 6 Inning Games: No new inning after 1 hour 45 minutes. During pool play, no extra innings will be played even if game is tied. During bracket play, if game is tied when the time limit is reached, play will continue until a winner is determined.
      • 7 Inning Games: No new inning after 2 hours. During pool play, no extra innings will be played even if game is tied. During bracket play, if game is tied when the time limit is reached, play will continue until a winner is determined.
    • Pitching restrictions:
      • All Grades: 1 pitch in an inning constitutes as a full inning for pitching limits. This tournament will use pitch counts rather than innings for determining pitcher eligibility.
      • 4th Grade: 75 Maximum Pitches Per Day. 115 Maximum Pitches Per Tournament.140 Maximum Pitches if in Championship.

      • 5th Grade: 85 Maximum Pitches Per Day.
125 Maximum Pitches Per Tournament.150 Maximum Pitches if in Championship.

      • 6th/7th Grade Majors/Minors: 95 Maximum Pitches Per Day. 135 Maximum Pitches per Tournament. 160 Maximum Pitches if in Championship or 3rd Place.
    • Home team determined by high seed. Seeds are based on season standings.

  • WHO IS IN CHARGE? The commissioners for your age/level are your primary contacts. They have authority to administer the tournament and all decisions made are FINAL. There is no protesting of games allowed. Questions on tournament format or rules can be submitted to Matt Markland. or Austin Brown (click to email).
