Using aTeam Page/Calendar (Coach and Managers)

 This year every team has a web page within the rybamn.com domain. Simply click on House or Traveling and follow the left tabs to your team (and bookmark it for quick access).

Don't know your USERID or forgot your PASSWORD?

The sign-on you are using for the RYBAMN website is not an RYBA login but rather an NGIN account.  The NGIN accounts are the exact same as used by many other associations such as hockey (RYHA) and  basketball (RCYBA) in Rochester.

Once you know your password if you sign into the web page in the upper left corner you should see the "Switch" if you have edit access in the upper right corner (provided by RYBA).


How do I access and edit my team page?

As a coach, you should alreay have access to edit your web page but if not you can email Dean Fox with your NGIN account name/id.  Your NGIN account is what was used to register your child or register to coach.  Each team may have one additional parent that may have access to edit the page. Please be sure to include your TEAM name and level!

 

If you are a coach or the one parent with access, these basic concepts may help you with your team page:

1) If you see a "light switch" in the upper right corner then you have edit priveleges to the page.  Click Edit. If you do not see it you do not have access to edit and either you aren't supposed to or you haven't asked for it.

2) To add content to you page click "Add Page Element". Select the first item "General Text" to simply create a box for entering text information.  Another one you may choose is "Link" which allows you to link to anothe url.  The third typical one would be contact which is simply a nice way to put a name and an email or phone number (such as to the coach)

 

I don't see a light switch to go into EDIT mode in upper right corner?

1) Either you don't have authority to edit your page

or

2) You aren't logged into NGIN. Sign into NGIN in the upper left corner of your browser

How do I use my team calendar?

Calendars may be used by your team to keep up with activiites and games.  It has an ical & RSS feed so if you use tools such as google calendar you may easily take advantage of it integrating into the rest of your busy schedule.

Your game calendars should already be loaded (or will be) for your team.  On the calendar view you may select "View All" and see a calendar view of your entire schedule.  Note that there are "tags" associated with team page calendars so that each calendar entry has one or multiple tags.  It could just have your team name which means it goes only on your calendar. It also may have a tag associated with a field calendar or the batting cages, for example.  Typically as a coach you will only use the tag associated with your team page.  If you are a traveling coach that is assigned traveling practice fields then you should use the field tag that you are practicing on. Since multiple traveling teams are assigned to practice on the same field it is an easy way for you to coordinate usage.

To delete a calendar entry, you would go into edit mode, click on the event on your calendar.  A single yellow box with only that calendar event should be displayed at which time you can click the X to delete it.  Please do NOT delete games from your offfical game schedules.  If you do not see an option to Delete the entry you may not have been granted enough permissions to change it.   Suggestion would be to change the TITLE to "DELETE THIS" so that it is clear to your team that it is not an actual event.

How do I enter my team roster?

Adding your roster to your team page.  You can click on "Roster" at the upper part of your page.  Click "Add Player". Click "Add Player from Network Member Directory".  You can then start typing a name and if in our NGIN system it will pop up for you to select.   If a player is not on your team you can select the "Create new player" button and then send an official invite for them to create an account in the NGIN system.

What about statistics?

 Statistics is an option within NGIN but all team pages have by default turned this off. We do NOT want you to use this option of NGIN and publically post statitics for your team.  Statistics are not something that is important to the development of youth. If as a coach you keep statistcis you should simply use it to understand how to best use each player based on their strengths and weaknesses and most importantly to understand where you need to focus on.

How do I enter scores and utilize league standings?

 Standings is enabled for the leages 4th-8th grade and score reporting is done by one or the other coach. The official standings are owned by the umpire coordinator but the expectations are coaches will enter the scores following a game. Any disputes please work through your commissioner and the umpire coordinator.

Steps to enternig game scores

Click "Game Schedule" icon from the top of your home page.
Click "Edit" switch to go into edit mode
Click "Quick score" in the yellow bar on top of the list of games.
