2009 11AAA MSF State Tournament 3rd Place Welcome to the Rochester Youth Baseball Association's Traveling Program Web Site! We are anticipating another fun and exciting year for all of the Rochester Traveling baseball teams. For 2010 we will have two AAA teams and one AA team for ages 10, 11, 12, 13, and 14. These teams will be “Travel only” teams meaning that none of these players will play in the RYBA House league. The 12, 13 and 14 year-old AAA and AA teams will participate in the Metro Baseball league throughout the week and will participate in tournaments on selected weekends from May to mid-July. The 10, 11 year-old AAA and AA teams will be “tournament only” teams. These teams will primarily practice and occasionally play scrimmage games during the week and will participate in tournaments on selected weekends from May to mid-July. We also have the single A option for 10, 11, 12 and 13 year olds that play a limited 2 tournament schedule (one in Rochester and one away) and will practice and play for approximately 4 weeks (end of May to end of June). All of the players on these single A teams must also participate in the RYBA House League on another RYBA House League team. If there is interest one of the 10U single A teams will participate only in traveling with a 4 tournament schedule and practice during the week similar to the other traveling only teams. Players do not choose what level they play and all players need to attend the evaluation tryouts. We may also have 15/16 year old teams that will play in the Winona County League as well as 1 weekend tournament. 2010 Traveling Fees There is no fee to tryout for an RYBA Traveling team. If you are selected for a traveling team, the following fees apply (in addition to the $90 RYBA Registration Fee and the $40 RYBA Fundraiser- except for 15AA who only pay the traveling fees):
Tryouts 2010: Tryouts are free. Tryouts will be held indoors during March and April. All age group tryouts will consist of at least 3 time blocks and will be held at the UCR Field House and RCTC Bubble. Player’s age on April 30th is used for eligibility and they should attend all tryout sessions. Tryout dates for age 14 1. March 16th 8:00-10:00pm FH check-in 7:15 2. April 7th 6:00-9:00pm Field House 4. April 8th 6:00-9:00pm Field House Rochester Tournaments 2010: Rochester will be hosting three tournaments this year. The Classic will be June 4-6 (10 AAA/AA, 12AAA/AA, 14AA). The Challenge is scheduled for June 18-20 (10A, 11A, 12A, 15AA). The Klampe will be held June 25-27 (11 AAA/AA, 13 AAA/AA, 14AAA). Uniforms: Each player will be responsible to purchase their own pants, belt and helmet. They may purchase these at Adlers Sporting Goods. Hat, socks, jersey (home and away), insurance, numbering and lettering, are provided and will be included in your traveling fee. 10A, 11A, 12A and 13A team members will receive one jersey and hat. Age classification:
The cutoff date for determining your player's age eligibility is April 30th. As with
past years, there may be situations where a player can choose to
'play up' to their grade level rather than based on their age as of
4/30. Please see us at the Traveling table during
registration for more information. SlumpBuster in Omaha: The 12 AAA and 14 AAA teams will again be traveling to Omaha for the SlumpBuster Youth tournament the weekend of June 18-20 for 12 AAA and June 17-20 for 14AAA..
